What is the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program?
The junior youth spiritual empowerment program is a worldwide educational program for anyone ages 11-15.
The junior youth program can be found in most communities in the world. It uses an internationally recognized curriculum that is designed with the aim of helping junior youth explore a number of themes that will develop their language abilities, enable them to excel in school, and become active agents of change. Universal moral values are used to help youngsters take charge of their own development and contribute to the progress of their communities.
Language Development
The curriculum of the junior youth program consists of stories containing meaningful exercises, activities, and community projects within a participatory environment that help junior youth develop their critical thinking and their ability to express their ideas.
Academic Excellence
In addition to what they study, junior youth also receive practical support and encouragement by their youth tutors so that they can excel in their academic studies. Homework help and after school tutoring are natural extensions of the program.
While society often represents this age range as a tumultuous period in one's life; this program sees in these young people altruism, a sense of justice, eagerness to learn about the world, and a desire to contribute to the construction of a better world.
Community Involvement
A core tenet of the program is helping junior youth develop their talents and abilities by helping the community. Junior youth often consult, plan, and execute community projects that help them develop an understanding of community issues and become agents of change.
